Engineering and Fabrication Facility
A significant value that Nova offers is our certified "AISC" fabrication facility and in-house engineering staff. Our in-house engineering staff includes licensed mechanical and civil engineers that provide technical assistance to project personnel and custom designs when needed. They also produce detailed engineering and shop drawings in the latest version of AutoCAD, as well as structural steel and piping layouts available in 3D AutoCAD models to assure the proper clearances before material gets to the field. The engineering department staff has more than 25 years of combined experience supporting hydrant fueling work on over 20 hydrant fueling projects completed by Nova. With this relevant experience, early identification of potential design problems in the project can be accomplished, and recommendations can be provided to correct those problems before they get to the field. This proactive approach to construction ensures that our customers are getting the best value.
Our 50,000 square foot "AISC" fabrication facility is certified by the American Institute of Steel Construction to have the personnel, organization, experience, capability, and commitment to fabricate structural steel for complex steel buildings and simple steel bridges. Nova also holds an AISC Sophisticated Paint Endorsement. The fabrication facility's capability to construct a project's miscellaneous structural steel provides substantial cost and scheduling savings for the owner.
Nova has extensive experience in the design and fabrication of double containment piping systems. We have engineered, manufactured and installed over one million feet of Class A steam and condensate piping systems, and we are the only company that both manufactures and installs these systems.
Nova designs and manufactures our own patented hydrant fueling pits, allowing us to control quality and adhere to the project schedule through internal manufacturing control. We have manufactured and installed over 250 hydrant pits and isolation valve pits. Additionally, we have over 20 years of experience in Fiber Reinforced Plastic (FRP) manufacturing with its aircraft ground service pits and piping systems.
