UPGRADE HYDRANT FUELING SYSTEM, PHASE 1

The base’s existing fueling system was to be upgraded to a Type III military hydrant fueling system. The project involved the modification of two existing 10,000 barrel fuel storage tanks, a new 2,400 gallon-per-minute pumphouse with fuel pumping equipment, 12 kV electrical service with an emergency standby generator, 22,000 LF of 12″ seamless stainless steel fuel pipe, and ten hydrant fuel pits and seven isolation valve pits manufactured by Nova. The new pumphouse structure was constructed in a block and brick wall. The apron required 22,000 SF of new PCC apron paving.

Other construction included repainting of two vertical aboveground 10,000 barrel API 650 aviation jet fuel storage tanks, demolition of an existing pumphouse, and the cleaning, removal and disposal of eight each 50,000 gallon underground storage steel tanks and associated piping, including the sampling and characterization of subsurface soils.
