Client: US Navy
Location: Naval Base Point Loma, San Diego, CA
This was a design-build project to improve an existing Pure Water Distribution System. The new system replaced the existing system‘s hoses with 316L stainless steel piping and supplies pure water to all three piers at Naval Base Point Loma. This was accomplished by running new pipe and supports along shoreline riprap, and along frontage or bulkhead walls, with possible onshore trenches to cross the shore end oand along the sides of the piers. Nova was the first construction contractor in over 25 years that the Navy has allowed to install a pure water system on a Navy pier with the $138M CVN Maintenance Pier (Pier B) Replacement project in Bremerton, WA, and this is therefore the second such project that relies on Nova’s unique expertise in this area.
