Nova replaced existing hydrant fueling systems with two new Type III hydrant fueling systems, each system has a 2,400 GPM; 3,750 square foot precast concrete pumphouse; five each 600 GPM transfer pumps; numerous control valves, issue filter separators; receipt filter separators, micronic filters; overhead crane; pipeline pigging capability with issue and receipt barrels; surge suppressor; minor plumbing and ventilation/air conditioning system; PLC and Graphic Display Panels, 400 kW emergency power Generator; 12 kV/480 volt Motor Control Center and Main Distribution Board, other electrical panels and interior lighting.
Each of the two hydrant systems has two each above ground 10,000 BBL JP-8 jet fuel storage tanks, for a total of four tanks constructed. The tanks are steel with a fixed cone roof structure. The interior of each tank will have several stilling wells for the level indicators and Automatic Tanks Gauging System and an aluminum honeycomb floating pan. Painting will be applied on the interior and exterior of the tanks. Each tank area will receive a flexible membrane liner system with the containment surface finished with concrete.
The location of the new POL area for the two pumphouses and four AG storage tanks required excavation of 175,000 cubic yards of coral. Carbon steel pipe (14 inch) was used for the 11,500 LF connections to the Base bulk fuel transfer line. The Petroleum Oil and Lubrication (POL) area includes a truck fill stand with structural cover; a hydrant hose checkout stand (HSV); two 4000 gallon product recovery tanks; site utilities that include water; sewer; storm drain; electrical distribution and site lighting.
