This new type III hydrant fueling system included a new 2,400 GPM pumphouse consisting of a structural steel building complete with four 600 GPM pumps, seven M.E. Industries filter separators, Cla-Val control valves, general twin seal plug valves, two surge suppressors, one micron filter separator, and programmable PLC system. A 4,000 gal product recovery tank and a 500 kW standby generator were installed adjacent to the pumphouse.

Two new above ground 10,000 barrel fuel storage tanks with floating pans, fixed roofs, flexible membrane liners and concrete containment were also constructed. The fuel piping distribution loop connecting the pumphouse area to the parking apron required 10,000 linear feet of 12″ stainless steel pipe installed in solid coral. This distribution piping supplies 20 hydrant pit outlets which required the installation of eleven low point drains and four high point vents for proper system operation. Also included was a truckfill stand.

Following installation of the new fuel distribution piping, new airfield paving was placed. This paving included 141,250 SF (5,230 CY) of new Portland Cement Concrete for the apron. This was completed in less than a month.

Demolition work included three existing Type II pumphouses and the removal of thirty 50,000 gallon & two 15,000 gallon underground storage tanks as well as 5,200 linear feet of existing fuel piping. Incidental utility work included sewer, water, and& electrical installation.
